Established in 1966, Gove Hill Retreat sits high atop the hills of Thetford, Vermont. The 18-room manor, 187-acre estate with trails, private pond and spectacular views of the Green and White mountains, along with our experienced staff, are ready to serve your needs.
From the moment you step on the grounds, you can see and feel God's presence in the beauty that surrounds you. Gove Hill offers warm hospitality for group retreats and safe fun summer experiences.
Retreats & Special Events
Groups are encouraged to come and rest and renew themselves in the stillness of the trails and property at Gove Hill. Our staff will help make your event extra special to meet the needs of your group.
Because we are a small retreat center, we are able to meet your needs specifically. The Manor House has 9 bedrooms with room for 52 people (or 32 on bottom bunk beds or twin) to sleep on beds with handmade quilts. We offer meetings rooms, a library and game room. There is seasonal space in our rustic cabins and Adirondack shelters to accommodate an additional 44 people.

The Clark family has been at Gove 
Hill since 1996. With the hospitable service Bill and Bernice provide, guests at the manor house or at summer camp always feel welcome. Whatever the event, Bill and Bernice will make sure your needs are met and you are able to rest and renew yourself in the stillness of Gove Hill.

Gove Hill is located in East Central Vermont
From I-91 Northbound
Take Exit 13 at Norwich. Go left off the ramp staying on Main Street through Norwich. Gove Hill Road is 9 miles from Dan & Whit's Store in Norwich. Bear left on Gove Hill Road to top of hill. Follow Gove Hill Road to the top of the hill (approximately 1.7 miles). The camp entrance is on the right side of the road. Go to the large white frame home.
From I-91 Southbound
Take Exit 14 at Thetford and follow Route 113A west over Thetford Hill to Thetford Center. Turn left onto Tucker Hill Road towards Strafford. This road goes through a covered bridge and over a hill to Route 132. Turn left on Route 132 and cross the bridge. Gove Hill Road is the first right after the bridge. Follow Gove Hill Road to the top of the hill (approximately 1.7 miles). The camp entrance is on the right side of the road. Go to the large white frame home.
From I-89 Southbound
Take Exit 2 at Sharon and follow Route 132 seven miles east to South Strafford. Turn right at the stop sign and continue to follow Route 132 through the village, making a sharp left turn and staying on Route 132 approximately another 4 miles. Cross the bridge and Gove Hill Road is the first right after the bridge. Follow Gove Hill Road to the top of the hill (approximately 1.7 miles). The camp entrance is on the right side of the road. Go to the large white frame home.
